The MEINL Headliner Series Cajons are designed to deliver the classic cajon sound at an affordable price, making them suitable for Flamenco or World Music performances. These cajons are also highly useful during unplugged gigs, providing the rhythmic foundation for a whole band when a full drum set cannot be utilized.
DREAM FOR DRUMMERS: The Meinl Headliner Cajon is quick to set up and offers the same kick and snare sounds as a drum set, but at a fraction of the volume. Players can achieve the deepest tone by playing with their hands toward the center, and crisp snare effects by playing near the top corners.
WHY IT MATTERS: Many musical settings do not allow for the space or volume level of full drums. The Meinl Headliner Cajon enables musicians to engage fully during acoustic shows with their band, jam sessions, or with their praise band without dominating the overall sound.
BE SMART: The cajon is crafted from 100% Baltic birch wood, the same material used in high-end drum sets for players serious about sound. It is made without cheap, glued-on, plasticky laminates that only give the appearance of wood.
HOW IT WORKS: The Baltic birch playing surface delivers punchy bass with about as much volume as an acoustic guitar. Inside the cajon are two sets of adjustable micro-coiled steel cajon strings, which provide a crisp snare sound. A tuning key is included for adjusting the strings.
HOW TO ADJUST STRINGS: Meinl includes a hex key that can be used to tighten or loosen the two screws on the bottom of the cajon, between the two front feet. Tightening the screws results in more definition, while loosening them creates a lax snare effect.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Meinl Headliner Cajon measures 11 3/4" W x 18" H x 12 1/4" D and weighs 8 lbs. Its full size provides enough volume for any room, and it is built to last with a solid frame that supports both adults and children.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The Meinl Headliner Cajon can be played alongside guitars at acoustic shows, with worship music, in the studio, or at outdoor jams. Four solid silicone feet keep the cajon stable, avoid scratches, and eliminate unwanted vibrations on any surface.
THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established in 1951 in Germany. Their expert German designers work closely with the builders to ensure the delivery of the absolute finest quality products.
