Percussion Instruments / Cajon
FACTORY INSTALLED PICKUPS: Come with internal Piezo pickups that enable you to control volume and tone through a PA system or amplifier, boosting your sound in any venue and dialing in your perfect tone.
WHY IT MATTERS: Cajons, naturally not loud, require a volume boost when playing in larger ensemble setups or bigger venues. These pickups lift the ceiling, making you audible in the mix.
HOW IT WORKS: This cajon, akin to a mini drum kit, features a mahogany playing surface that produces bass, snare, and tom/bongo tones. The sounds vary depending on where you strike (LEFT: snare, MIDDLE: bass, RIGHT: tom/bongo).
GO DEEPER: The modern composite resonating body includes a large forward-facing bass port, projecting sound toward your audience for fuller low-end tone.
OF NOTE: The pickups operate without batteries, requiring a simple connection to an amp or PA via a quarter-inch cable. Adjust the dials for optimal sound (cable not included).
ZOOM IN: There are two dials and two quarter-inch jacks for precise tone mixing (SNARE AND BASS) and signal output (OUTPUT). The cajon’s system allows you to join other Meinl Percussion passive pickup instruments for enhanced performance.
BY THE NUMBERS: This compact Slaptop Cajon measures 14 1/2" long x 7 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" tall and weighs 4 lbs.
THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl, a family-owned instrument manufacturer established in 1951 in Germany, prides itself on delivering the finest quality through expert German design and builder relationships.
