The Mein MDF composite Cajon with Maple front plate delivers a full, deep tone with cutting snare slaps. Two sets of internal fixed snare wires brush against the front plate for crisp, responsive snare sounds that complement the projecting bass notes. The composite material used for the resonating Body not only has a sleek matte black finish, but its outstanding acoustic properties allow every note to develop and project, giving this Cajon a very musical sound. The snares are ultra-sensitive, responding to even the softest of finger rolls. Four sturdy rubber feet on the bottom stabilize the Cajon on any surface.

It takes no time to set up, and you get the same kick and snare sounds as a drum set at a fraction of the volume; play with your hands toward the center to get the deepest tone and near the top corners for crisp snare effects. A lot of musical settings don't allow for the space or volume level of full drums; with the Meinl Headliner Cajon, you can fully engage during acoustic shows with your band, at jam sessions, or with your praise band without taking over.

The playing surface is 100% maple wood, and it delivers clear sound full of super crisp highs and deep low-end tone; it is made with NO cheap, glued-on, plasticky laminates that only look like wood. The maple wood playing surface delivers punchy bass with about as much volume as an acoustic guitar, and inside the cajon are two sets of fixed coiled steel snare wires that give you a crisp pop (everything comes fully assembled).

The resonating body is built with modern composite because this material naturally reflects sound instead of absorbing; it gives you a tone that cuts so your notes come through with more clarity, plus, it's extra durable for regular touring.
