The Meinl Snarecraft professional cajon combines articulate rhythmic punctuation with a warm tonal quality, giving players a focused sound and wide dynamic range. Crafted from Baltic birch wood, this cajon responds with a punchy low-end thud and crisp slap tones. The highly expressive snare sounds come from adjustable snares that can be dialed-in with the foot pedal located on the side of the cajon.

Changing the position of the pedal (forward or backward) alters the pressure the snares exert, adjusting their sensitivity. The snares can also be turned off completely. Rounded corners on the playing surface offer total comfort while maximizing playing touch.

This cajon provides players with two distinct sound options. By simply pushing the pedal on the side, you can switch between a crisp snare tone and a hollow conga/bongo effect, effectively transforming the instrument to suit the mood or song.

The mechanical pedal is attached to two internal sets of coiled steel snare wires. Pushing the pedal forward places the snares against the playing surface, while pulling it back disengages them (only a small pedal movement is required).

The cajon's 9-ply Baltic birch body and American white ash frontplate produce a rich, crisp, and full-bodied wood tone. The frontplate is perfectly matched to the body, ensuring outstanding sound and feel.

The rounded top corners enhance hand contact and playing comfort, while also making it easier to achieve precise, cutting slap tones. Measuring 11 ¾" W x 19 ¾" H x 12" D and weighing 13 lbs, the full-size cajon has ample volume for any room and a solid frame that supports adult players.
