Shop / meinl percussion luis conte artist series live shaker
Designed according to the exact requirements of master percussionist Luis Conte, these shakers were crafted to his specifications. Luis describes the sound as "as smooth as silk". The black shaker model bridges the gap between the red and grey versions, delivering ultra-smooth percussive tones that can seamlessly blend yet cut through the mix, responding beautifully at any volume level. A bit louder than the red shaker, it is perfect for both studio and live use. Any drummer or percussionist will find this instrument extremely useful in their playing, whether for a mic'd set or a softer unplugged gig with a cajon. To complete the trio of sounds, pair the black shaker with the red and grey models.
Featuring four individual chambers connected in one shaker, this design offers a predictable, silky-smooth response, making it the EASIEST SHAKER TO PLAY. These four small chambers are easier to control than a single large open chamber. WHY IT MATTERS is that it takes minimal effort to achieve a consistent rhythm, regardless of skill level. With less interior space for the filling to travel, the response is instant with no lag.
This shaker was ONE BIG THING - designed in collaboration with mega-successful percussionist and Meinl artist, Luis Conte. Luis' impressive recording and performance credits include work with artists like James Taylor, Santana, Phil Collins, Ray Charles, Jackson Browne, Shakira, and Madonna.
The MEDIUM VERSION strikes a balance, not too loud but carrying a pleasant sound. It offers the most versatile applications of the three Luis Conte shakers - great for the studio, usable almost anywhere, and best for high volume live shows.
Made with 100% all-weather synthetic material, this shaker produces a crisp tone while being durable. OF NOTE, this lightweight material yields a clear timbre. BY THE NUMBERS, the shaker measures 6 7/8" long x 3 1/8" wide and ranges from 79-81 decibels in volume, a bit softer than an acoustic guitar strum.
THE BOTTOM LINE is that this shaker can be played anywhere, from acoustic shows to studios, praise bands to campfire sing-alongs, regardless of the user's skill level. It will reliably deliver.
